Position Title: Group Manager, Market Access Strategy

The Group Manager of Market Access Strategy (MAS) is accountable for developing and executing Market Access Strategy, in line with AstraZeneca s therapeutic area focus (CVRM and RIA inhaled), to ensure patients gain access to our life changing medicines through public and private reimbursement systems.

Reporting to the Director of Market Access Strategy, he/she will provide expertise in the above-mentioned area(s) that generate Market Access Strategies and submissions to support the value of AstraZeneca s medicines.

Lead team of Market Access Managers to develop and deliver compelling Market Access Strategies including reimbursement submissions to the Common Drug Review, PCODR, INESSS, Provincial Drug Programs & Private Payers
Effectively lead the market access and reimbursement HTA and private payer submission process content and milestones
Role-model cross-department collaboration to ensure strategic and timely regional input and sharing of relevant brand/TA insights.
Drive for excellence and assess for areas of improvement and efficiency within the reimbursement process including: Budget Impact Analysis, early asset assessment and time to listing analysis and tracking
Oversee cross-functional development and execution of innovative payer solutions and evidence generation to support reimbursement objectives
Collaborate with external stakeholders & reimbursement experts to ensure that AstraZeneca Canada market access initiatives are relevant and support the needs of patients, health care providers and payers
Operate as a key member of the brand teams and BU leadership teams
Be a role model for cross-functional working to ensure TA area objectives are met
Be an enterprise thinker who can share the voice of Market Access and understand the brand objectives so that win-win solutions are created.
Cultivate partnerships with the Global Organization to understand and support the Market Access needs of the business
Champion the payer value brand propositions with with Market Access field team to enable engagement with stakeholders to drive optimal implementation of reimbursement strategies
Support the development of product listing agreement strategies
Be an effective leader of people
Recruit, lead, develop and retain high performing employees.
Develop, implement and monitor individual development plans to build capabilities, and carry out performance reviews in line with AstraZeneca s policies.

Bachelors degree science, social sciences or business

5-7 years of Pharmaceutical experience (market access, government affairs) with a proven track record of success
Proven track record in managing market access strategy from Phase 3 to provincial listings
Proven track record in leading HTA submissions; including Clinical, BIA and Pharmacoeconomic strategy
Proven track record in managing private payer strategy and submissions with proven results to optimize access
Experience in Cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease or Respiratory disease is an asset
Proven results and experience leading projects that involves cross functional collaboration with Marketing, Medical and regulatory
Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into strategies and submissions
