Structural Engineer-in-Training At Associated Engineering

Location: Kelowna, British Columbia

Job Description

An employee-owned, Canadian company, Associated Engineering provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors.

We currently have an opening for a Structural Engineer-in-Training in our Kelowna office. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and develop your skills in many areas. You will have the autonomy to complete tasks with minimal supervision. You will be working on an important project, therefore, providing you with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the company and seeing the project through to its completion. You will be given opportunities for advancement within the company, while receiving constructive feedback to foster your career, and to collaborate with talented people.

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of bridge projects for a varied client base including the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, BC Ministry of Forest Lands and Natural Resources Operations, Municipalities, and private sector clients. You will participate in the delivery of all aspects of bridge projects ranging from inspection; assessment and rehabilitation of bridges; conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of bridges; and preparation and administration of contracts. Duties will include inspection, design, project management, participation in business development, and preparation of proposals.

Job Requirements

What you will bring to the table:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel within BC.
