We currently have an opening for a Transportation CAD
Design Technologist in our Markham office. The
successful candidate will have 5+ years of Ontario
Working with a dynamic team in a collaborative work
environment, the Transportation CAD Design Technologist
will be based out of Markham but will be expected to
collaborate with our offices in Niagara-on-the-Lake and
Kitchener, on occasion.
Responsibilities include the following:
Executing designs through the interpretation of
design basis information provided by engineers and
senior designers for road and highway projects and
preparing project drawings.
Delivering production work in accordance with
company technical and operating procedures.
Providing support to other members of the team.
Providing support with respect to a range of
activities including both technical and
non-technical tasks related to engineering design
and construction as well as project management,
marketing, and business development.
Delivering projects on budget and within identified
Engaging in a collaborative work environment with
your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to established policies and
procedures within a COR registered environment.
Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and
regulations are followed.
Review and adhere to AE s health and safety,
environmental, and quality standards, operating
procedures and policies.
Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit
workplace violence and harassment.
Perform regular formal or informal workplace
Enforce safety rules and correct unsafe acts or
Manage all accident and / or incident procedures and
unsafe conditions and / or behavior.
Notify supervisor immediately to items brought to
his / her attention with respect to hazards, defects
or non-compliance issues.

Job Requirements:What you will bring to the table:
Diploma in Engineering Technology from an accredited
5+ years of progressive transportation &
infrastructure design experience in Ontario.
Multi-discipline design coordination and delivery is
Familiarity with applicable local design codes and
TAC design Manual.
Experience with technical specification development
and report writing is an asset.
Be proficient in the use of Civil 3D.
Experience with latest version of AutoCAD, is an
Experience with InRoads design software.
Demonstrated experience with the latest version of
Experience with spreadsheets and related computer
software for process design, and equipment sizing.
Experience working for a consulting engineering firm
is an asset.
Experience with coordinating production from
multiple team members is an asset.
