Safety Program Administrator At Arctech

Location: Fort St. John, British Columbia

Job Description

The successful applicant will work closely with the Sales/Estimating Manager to coordinate, maintain and strengthen the company safety program of Arctech Welding + Machining. The candidate will have proven experience (3-5 years +) working in the Safety Management/Safety Administration environment.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Previous experience with ISNetworld and Comply Works is considered an asset
  • HSE related education is considered an asset
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  • Advanced planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent researching, writing, and organizational skills
  • Auditing experience is an asset
  • Respectfully able to work with all types of people with different personalities, cultures, and customs
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as travel is required
  • Ability to lead and take charge of various projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

Job Requirements:

As a Safety Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for the company and responsible for;
  • Research Government Regulations as requested to ensure compliance with applicable Worker Health and Safety Regulations
  • Maintaining third party procurement websites such as ISNetworld® and Comply Works accounts
  • Have experience with an online safety database (Digital Action Tracking System/DATS, Safety Sync)
  • Updating and maintenance of company safety manual
  • Developing & Hosting Safety Meetings & Joint Occupational Health & Safety Meetings
  • Writing/developing Company Safe Work Procedures and Practices
  • Ensuring Safe Work Procedures and Practices are up to regulatory standards
  • Work in collaboration with the Sales/Estimating Manager to maintain Work Safe BC initiatives and inspections
  • Maintain employee files, safety related data bases, including data input, follow up and analysis, preparing reports, and tracking incidents
  • Assist with workers compensation claims
  • Providing a safety resource to fellow workers.
  • Additional duties upon request by the manager
