Job Summary
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Business Analyst - Web Rating responsible for ensuring product releases as well as project deliverables meet the business needs of our clients. The successful candidate will be the primary contact between project teams and clients, ensuring all requirements are satisfied throughout all phases of the project. Through collaboration with developers, testers, and business partners, the analysts is required to develop, document, maintain and execute specifications and solutions. The candidate must possess strong verbal and written communications skills, demonstrate strong leadership attributes, and have excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. The successful candidate will be joining the Web Rating team focusing on our WebRater and ezLeads plus products.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Analyze, co-ordinate and manage WebRater product releases using agile methodology and readiness processes to ensure a quality product release is delivered as scheduled
  • Co-ordinate with multiple departments inside Applied to assist with change analysis and product support including Auto and Property Operations, WebServices, Epic, Rating Services and CSR24
  • Co-ordinate multiple business projects concurrently for clients from the beginning of the proposal process to the project implementation
  • Participate within the client proposal process, collaborating on the development of proposal documents and project scope statements including the coordination and acquisition of time estimates, solution design and risk analysis
  • Facilitate communication with clients to determine clear understanding of business problems that can be solved by technology solutions
  • Define and develop business and functional requirements for the approved scope items

  • Solid understanding and proven experience in requirements definition and management techniques including business process, use case, work flow and data modeling
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Ability to negotiate project requirements and appropriate solutions with clients

  • Post-secondary education in business, computer science, technology, or a related field
  • Awareness of the Web Rating suite of products (asset)
  • Good knowledge of the Rating Services suite of products and related underwriting processes (asset)
  • Insurance related experience (asset)
  • Bilingualism - English and French (asset)
  • Analytics experience including Google and Tag Management (asset)
