Training has always been at the heart of Apple. We have developed tools and learning to ensure and maintain sales staff’s passion for the brand and our partners’ engagement. As a Sales Training Manager based in Toronto, you will be responsible to ensure that Apple’s and channel partner sales staff across Canada possess the skills and knowledge to provide a high-quality shopping experience to Apple customers. You will need to build a comprehensive Training plan for Apple’s own sales staff and Apple channel partner staff. We are looking for people who have a passion in learning and development. This position requires phenomenal communication and presentation skills, strong analytical skills, project/program management experience and some knowledge of adult learning principals and/or sales skills.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of practical experience with training/incentive programs, learning and development, and/or engagement/advocacy strategies with a strong background in people management. A background in technology industries or Carrier/Retail sales is highly valued.
  • Excellent project management skills; able to prioritize effectively and handle numerous deliverables at a time. Able to be focused and to make decisions that move projects forward in an environment with ambiguity.
  • A passion for technology, innovation and a willingness to constantly challenge the status quo. A quick learner, able to adapt to fast and constant changes. Self-sufficient and goal oriented.
  • An exceptional communicator with the ability to deliver product and sales messages clearly and concisely. Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to engage learners and assist in their development by exploration. Ability to confidently present in front of audiences including senior leaders and convey important messages in a clear and effective manner.
  • Highly skilled at collaboration with senior leaders; able to successfully partner with internal and external customers. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams - able to influence and gain consensus without organizational authority.
  • Strong analytical capabilities. Able to assess impact of initiatives and anticipate recommendations to increase effectiveness and impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic training plans to support the business needs
  • Flexible and adaptable. Someone who loves a challenge. Able and willing to travel regularly within Canada and occasionally outside Canada.
  • Fluent in English. Bilingual an asset.

Description

Develop a strategic training plan for Canada with goal of developing highly knowledgeable advocates who enhance the experience for Apple customers. The plan will include classroom, in-store and e-learning activities, based on Apple training guidelines and business priorities set with each external and internal partner. The plan will support development of Apple’s sales staff and channel partners including multi-brand retailers, telecom carriers, mono-brand partners and commercial resellers. Dedicated collaboration with sales leadership and Apple internal teams to understand business priorities and recommend appropriate training strategies to support attainment of business goals and development of sales teams and channels. Build close relationships with each partner’s training organization to ensure maximum impact on the sales staff. This will involve a deep understanding of partner staff profile and training levels, learning and development program and ensure Apple training is tightly included in it. Measure and evaluate success of training programs; modifying as required to increase impact. Incorporate review of key advocacy measures including mystery shop, field feedback and e-learning engagement data. Build and present dashboards to highlight results and gaps. Analyze return on investment and trainer utilization with recommendations to decrease costs and increase scale. Manage instructional designers to design and write significant, engaging, interactive content for a variety of audiences. Curate and manage sales training content in close collaboration with other Apple teams, channel partners and trainers. Manage Apple’s e-learning platform including supervising the design and publishing of creative assets and engagement initiatives. Develop initiatives to ensure optimization and regular usage among sales staff within Apple and our partner organization. Provide insights on usage through analytics. Supervise the delivery of best in class training sessions as per Apple training guidelines. This includes providing a consistently great learning experience to surprise and delight the learners. Review trainer performance and provide meaningful feedback. Make sure trainers are fully aligned with the Apple Sales training approach. Ensure readiness of trainers, contents, equipment, venues. Liaise with partners inside Apple at a worldwide level to share country and partner training progress, results, needs and requirements. Share successful practices with worldwide and geo counterparts. Provide input on course content, and contribute to the creation of customization of training materials. Quality assurance of translation of Sales Training Materials where required.

Education
