We are currently searching for an energetic, motivated Senior HR Generalist to join our Team


The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for providing timely and professional Human Resources support to the day-to-day needs of the organization while executing the strategic initiatives of the Human Resources Department. This role is responsible for supporting the HR Manager with leadership of HR staff for optimal output and compliance.


  • The Senior HR Generalist, will support the HR Manager in ensuring the performance and execution of the HR Coordinator, HR Administrator and Receptionist to ensure accuracy and timeliness of tasks in accordance with the needs of the HR Department
  • Serves as an HR business partner working closely with the organization’s management team in order to develop an HR agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the organization
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures as required
  • Serving as the first point of contact for the HR Department, ensuring the HR support tickets received are closed off in a timely manner as assigned
  • Actively identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as the HRIS and Payroll system (Ceridian) super-user for the HR Department, including performing verification audits of each payroll run and regular verification checks for accuracy and new user/employee set up on system or hand scanners
  • Prepare materials and conduct various training programs to all employees and various levels within the organization as required, conducting gap analysis and taking appropriate steps to ensure gaps are closed or minimized accordingly
  • Participate in overall benefit plan management with active partnership and communication with associated brokers; provide employees with benefits information and respond to benefits inquiries, and perform employee benefit enrollments
  • Ensures that job descriptions, job evaluation and compensation programs are updated and maintained; assists with wage and salary surveys and administration to ensure organizational competitiveness and legal compliance
  • Conduct new hire feedback meetings and exit interviews with employees as required, generating and initiating corrective actions on items where improvement is noted and warranted
  • Prepare for and attend various meetings (e.g. Employee Meetings, Management Meetings) including preparing presentations and/or meeting minutes, and conducting follow up on actionable items as required
  • Maintain the training database in audit-ready status, including performing regular gap analysis and timely follow up to ensure gaps are eliminated
  • Create and maintain all Departmental KPIs; conducts data-driven analysis of trends and pro-actively addresses areas of need, such as in turnover, deviations from compensation policy, worker safety, etc. to enhance corporate performance and mitigate risks
  • Working with the Manager of Human Resources, assist with the administration of progressive discipline in a fair and consistent manner, and attend employee discipline meetings as required to ensure discipline is conducted in accordance with legislative and procedural guidelines
  • Consults with internal resources as required, and leads inquiries regarding complex employee relations issues with a developed comfort and expertise in legal, risk, compliance and security.
  • Provide support to the Health & Safety program including but not limited to the coordination of activities for the Joint Health & Safety Committee and Safety Groups
  • Provide backup coverage to the HR Coordinator and HR Administrator as required
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned


  • Minimum 5 years progressive HR Generalist experience within a team environment
  • CHRP or CHRL designation required
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce or other HRIS required
  • Previous experience in running or overseeing payroll processing preferred
  • Previous leadership experience an asset
