This position is based in Richmond Hill and is focused on major retail Head Office accounts.
Our company, a well established distributor of consumer goods seeks to engage a National Account Manager to liaise with major retail account buyers and category managers to build profitable volume and market share for our client and category growth for retail clients.

A savvy National Account Manager who has called on major retail Head Offices - buyers and category managers to lead the charge on sales - with the focus on product, price, and promotion. The National Account Manager will support our client's sales and marketing efforts by: Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Head Office retail buyers and category managers. Manage activities with sales, purchasing, accounting and shipping departments to support all aspects of selling, monitorying and servicing exisitng and new retail accounts. Maintaining agreements with retailers and co-ordinating Canadian and US pricing, displays and distribution of collateral material. Maintaining familiarity with retailer software used to manage sell through, inventory and track performance. Walmart's Retail Link is an example. Looking for opportunities for new accounts in designated territory or product area. Providing product information, training and doing presentations. Managing travel and entertainment budget. Responding to inquiries within a timely manner. Being a source of marketing intelligence. Participating in trade shows as required. Setting up new accounts. Assisting the sales team with other tasks as required.
Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in sales, marketing or a related business field. Five (5) or more years of account management, territory management, key account management or national account management experience calling on buyers or category managers of major retail Head Offices. High energy and a strong urgency to respond to client inquiries and requests. Strong project management skills; can prioritize and organize multiple programs in a constantly changing environment. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments. Ability to work with retail math to calculate discounts, commissions, etc. Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc), and proprietary retailer software programs (e.g. Wal-Mart, CTC, Sears, Costco, SDM, etc.)
