Product Engineer At Anatolia Tile + Stone

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

Job Description

Anatolia Tile & Stone is a leading importer and distributor of ceramic and stone tile and is a major supplier to some of the largest distributors throughout the United States and Canada. Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an eager, motivated Product Engineer to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for creating, implementing and executing the process of managing multiple product programs to ensure operational excellence and category performance. This includes mapping out and defining the list of dependent steps and processes that need to be completed to reach the overall goal as related to new product launches and product life cycle management with the objective of ensuring timely and right the first time delivery to the customer. Focusing primarily on tactical execution of operational elements, this role ensures deadlines are achieved, budgets maintained and delegates tasks across multiple departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Liaises between account managers, sales, customer service, supply chain and warehouse teams to provide project updates
  • Manages multiple projects through the critical path and tracks project schedule
  • Ensures budget perimeters and on time delivery commitments are met
  • Manages and evaluates the progress of projects from concept to delivery and ensures strict adherence to critical path
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and is accountable for the overall execution of project processes and deliverables in line with the project plan, including planning, financial, communication, stakeholder, risk and issue and scope management
  • Prepares project reports for management, clients, others as required
  • Owns the process for item setup, master data management, and the accuracy of the data within this process
  • Actively leverages resources from various departments to manage deliverables to ensure commitments are achieved and to ensure continued repeatability of successes through the creation and maintenance of project documentation and measurement of success post implementation
  • Serves as a conduit of information to all parties including design & development/marketing, sales, customer service and supply chain and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, and on budget
  • Attends operations meetings and other meetings as required to keep abreast of changes and to ensure proactive sharing of information is sustained
  • Partners with the applicable departments to prepare quotes, procure materials/products, and partners with operations to ensure all information and materials are arranged to support a smooth product launch and program run
  • Assists with packaging specifications and deliverables
  • Communicates and elevates client concerns in a timely manner, articulating issues and making clear recommendations
  • Defines, develops and drives internal processes to ensure adherence to schedule, product and logistic integrity to enhance the customer experience
  • Preparation, presentation and implementation of product roadmaps to strategically execute new product launches through to end-of-life cycles
  • Continually monitors and analyzes sales and inventory performance to identify down trending items and plan for discontinuing product lines, life cycle management and ensuring optimal assortment is obtained
  • Post-secondary education in Design Engineering, Process Engineering or similar program required
  • 5 to 10 years of direct experience as a product manager leading cross functional teams
  • Project Management certification an asset
  • Previous experience with sourcing an asset, coupled with solid business acumen, master data management, and understanding of product lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to rally a team and external stakeholders around strategies, timelines and budgets required
  • Experience building product roadmaps and executing product launches
  • Ability to read CAD drawings and create packaging specifications an asset
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and MS Project
  • Working knowledge and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferable), Salesforce, and/or Routing/Scheduling systems is an asset
