Law Practice Management - Marketing Assistant At American Bar Association

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

The ABA recruits employees seeking opportunities for challenging and substantive work defending liberty and pursuing justice in the U.S. and around the world. Provides administrative support services to an assigned marketing project or work group. Facilitates customer and vendor communications, interfaces, and problem solving.

Principal Duties/Job Responsibilities
Coordinates and completes assigned marketing projects for a section or work group within marketing.
Provides elementary social media activities to enhance the visibility of the section or work group.
Manages and maintains departmental databases and communication files.
Handles to completion, customer/client contacts and issues within the assigned scope of responsibility - referring more complex issues to more senior staff.
May monitor and report on departmental budgets and defines variances for further action.
May provide administrative support to the assigned entity.
Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications & Interests (BQIs)
Possession of a High School diploma or GED.
Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).
Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Previous experience working in marketing, communications, social media, or advertising.
Previous experience working in a not-for-profit, NGO, and/or Association environment.
