Stock Controller At Ameren

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Job Description

About The Position

The Stock Controller is responsible for the research, analysis, and application of inventory strategies to support business line operational requirements (operations & maintenance, projects/construction, and storm response). Activities include the optimization of inventory, tracking and reporting metrics, material forecasting, support for inventory systems, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and communicate inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop inventory strategies that support business lines operational requirements.
  • Develop, run, and communicate inventory reports to track metrics and recommend adjustments to stocking levels or inventory strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement material forecasts into the inventory management process.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to inventory management (i.e. Continuous Improvement).
  • Participate in accounting, benchmarking, and budget activities as assigned.
  • Support current and future inventory management systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in an analytical discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.). MBA or other related graduate degree preferred. Three or more years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, consulting, cost accounting, or finance required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Proficiency with Oracle Business Intelligence preferred. Thorough understanding of inventory management process, procedures, and systems required. Thorough understanding of statistical analyses required. Basic understanding of purchasing, accounts payable, work management and financial systems applications. Thorough understanding of Ameren’s systems applications (e.g., Oracle Purchasing, Accounts Payable, EMPRV, CBS) preferred. Proven ability to achieve results while effectively managing the associated change and to measure, analyze, (e.g., TCO, NPV, cost price analysis) and understand complex business issues required.
