ROLE OVERVIEW

Key Account Manager reporting to Key Accounts Sales Director

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for growing business with Maple Leaf Foods with a focus of capturing new opportunities whilst continuously improving the performance of existing business. This is a role with high visibility and frequent Senior Management contact. The sales responsibility is over 30 million with most of the travel across Canada.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Create and execute a strategy to continue to maintain and grow the account
  • Establishes and maintains cordial and effective relationships with key personnel at assigned account in purchasing, packaging, R & D and management areas
  • Grows sales by providing solutions and excellent service to the customer
  • Negotiates and resolves issues which arise between customer and Amcor on matters relating to product performance, pricing, service, etc. Organizes, coordinates and conducts customer sales presentation
  • Manages accounts receivable as acceptable levels with assistance from the credit department
  • Provides reports as requested by management including: Sales Call Reports; Monthly Reports; New Business Opportunity Reports; Annual budgeting
  • As directed by Sales Management, establishes and maintains cordial and effective relationships with internal Amcor product management, customer service and key global Amcor contacts
  • Responsible for the management of Account Planning and PMDB maintenance in Sales Force
  • Coordinates Sales Management, R&D, Marketing and Field Service in support of validation trials and customer trials
  • Required to be proactive in maintaining appropriate knowledge base of product lines of global Amcor manufacturing competencies, along with knowledge of allied and customer industries

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Bachelors level degree required
  • 5+ years for experience in outside business to business sales
  • Excellent process development and process implementation skills
  • Expertise in selling systems, selling best-practices, and contract negotiation
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Salesforce.com
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively manage business growth
  • Strong technical expertise of components and construction of flexible packaging materials preferred
  • Knowledge of end-user equipment and end-user applications in Food & Beverage Packaging preferred
