Technical Program Manager - Fashion At Amazon.com

Location: New York, New York

Job Description

Job Description

Do you have a passion to innovate on behalf of customers? Are you interested in creating a new shopping experience that will impact the online fashion industry?

Amazon Fashion is a dynamic, fast-growing business and a key strategic area for the company. The online shopper faces challenges in evaluating and discovering items that match their preferences, satisfy their needs, and inspire their sense of style.

We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented and inventive Technical Program Manager to lead and drive delivery of a large program to redefine the evaluation and discovery of fashion on Amazon. You will work closely and cross-functionally across engineering, data science, product, and UX design to define, launch and iterate on this experience.
This role requires a strong ability to Invent and Simplify: you will leverage your deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills and excellent leadership skills to come up with new ways to get things done, research and define system integrations that will allow us to move fast and deliver with quality, balancing customer and business needs versus technical constraints. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs.

A successful candidate will have strong experience driving roadmaps for large software products, excellent influencing, project management and communication skills, and technical expertise. You will own program schedules from design to release, write technical specifications, and partner effectively with other teams across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience for customer facing internet-related software applications
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
  • Experience researching and defining integrations between multiple systems.
  • Experience building processes, project management, and software development release schedules
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Prior experience as a software developer
  • Hands-on experience with agile or other program management methodologies
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, object oriented development, build processes, change control management and release models.
  • Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
