Human Resources Business Partner At Alumicor

Job Description

T he HR Business Partner is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and
e valuation of the human resources function for Alumicor across Canada. Develops policy/procedure,
d irects and coordinates human resource activity such as employee relations, attendance management,
p erformance management, payroll, recruiting, compensation & benefits, company matched RRSP
program, and training.
Location: 290 Humberline Drive, Toronto ON, M9W 5S2

T he HRBP supports the HR Director in HR/Health & Safety (H&S) projects such as HR audits, H&S audits,
p ayroll initiatives, applicant tracking system (ATS) and recruiting optimization, compensation
p lan/strategy, succession planning, employee engagement, talent management (talent assessment,
d evelopment and retention), and creating a high performing/engaging culture.


Provides support, coaching and guidance to line management for employee relations, HR policies,
people management and other general HR related topics
 C o n d u c t s v a r i o u s i n v e s t igations such as employee relations issues, disciplinary issues, harassment

and discrimination complaints, MOL complaints and exit/stay interviews 

Identifies training needs for teams/individuals and evaluates training and development programs 

Creates, implements and supports training and development initiatives 

Monitors and ensures compliance with all provincial regulations concerning legislative requirements 

Develops, monitors and reports on attendance, turnover, and succession planning initiatives 

Supports the strategic development and execution of Talent Management, Employee Engagement
and Performance Management Processes 

Supports the HR Director in creating, implementing and monitoring employee HR policies,
procedures and HR projects. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive
continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed 

Assists with time and attendance management including policy development, administration and
recording and payroll processing. Acts as a back-up for the Payroll Administrator. 

Participates in developing HR and H&S strategies, goals, objectives and budgets in alignment with
the overall business strategy

Conducts recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried employees, interns and temporary agency

employees 

Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to support efficient company


Bachelor’s degree required 

CHRP/CHRL designation required. CHRL preferred. 

Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources Generalist/Specialist role, including three
years in a manufacturing environment 

Ability to understand and add value to Alumicor’s business, aligning programs and services with
Company’s overall vision and mission 

Demonstrates business maturity and integrity, especially when dealing with highly confidential
information 

Ability to credibly influence others with his/her point of view, and work collaboratively with all
departments and management levels within the company 

Ability to deliver and execute high-quality and consistent Human Resources processes and services 

Strong background in Health and Safety management, including all facets of health and safety
compliance, WSIB administration, safety culture change management and behaviour-based safety 

Ability to adapt quickly to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead people
through change 

Experience in succession planning, employee engagement and talent management is an asset and
preferred 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. ADP Workforcenow (WFN) is an asset. 

Excellent verbal/written communication skills 

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 

Strong desire to help others achieve their potential 

Able to contribute to building a culture of respect, integrity, fun and accountability 

Skilled in planning and organizing, time management, managing multiple priorities, with excellent
attention to detail

A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum
