The Site Manager plays a key leadership role in the North Zone Clinical Operations and reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization of site services within the Slave Lake Heath Care Centre in the North Zone. This work will be accomplished through planning, delivery and evaluating health services within the assigned hospital, in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Responsibilities will include making key decisions regarding the integration of various resources to ensure effective delivery of health services within hospital/sites. This position will also be accountable for providing leadership in establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to Clinical Operations within the North Zone. Responsible for implementation, operational management, monitoring of integrated acute care services within the site., assessing, planning, directing and evaluating the operations and activities of the site within established policies, guidelines, and regulations, participating in the budget process and monitoring financial position of the site through variance report analysis. Providing support and counsel to the Director, Clinical Operations - North Zone management team on all aspects of related services within designated geographical area. Strategic planning, operational leadership, relationship management, and people management are key responsibilities/accountabilities. Financial management of monitoring assigned budgets and People resource management is a component of this job.

A minimum of a bachelor degree in healthcare profession, healthcare management or related field. Minimum of 5 years in a management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in a management role in health service operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of legislation and regulation related to Healthcare. Knowledge of unionized work environments/union collective agreements. Knowledge of Protection for Persons in Care Act. Experience with budgets would be an asset. Healthcare experience an asset. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, combination of education and experience may be considered.
