Who you are

As a Director, Business Development and Sales, you are a hunter; strategically examining, exploring customer segments, thriving in customer dialogue and pitch presentations. You live and breathe sales and business development. It’s what you love!

You are amazing at building out pipelines, identifying and developing strategic relationships, then converting these relationships into clients, both toward short and long term. You won’t get fazed when handed large-scale engagements for high-traffic content sites, e-commerce, web and mobile app development—projects that are intricate, wide-ranging and require a deeply innovative, and future-thinking mindset.

What you’ll be getting up to

You will lead the aeqdigital Business Development and Sales initiatives challenged to move forward some of our biggest clients, as well as grow a roster of new ones looking for best in-class experiences. You can expect to learn our business inside and out, learn our successes to date and tailor your style when selling solutions. You will be accountable for the process from prospect and lead generation all the way to contract stage, and handing the contact over to project and other teams successfully. You can also expect to contribute strategically to the leadership level team, for example our company’s value proposition. You will work closely with the Marketing and Operations teams collaborating, yet it will be your job to run the pitch process from start-to-finish, including assessing initial opportunities, collaborating with key internal stakeholders on pitch deliverables, interfacing with prospective clients, and creating written RFP responses.

What you bring

  • Proven track record of B2B sales in software or technology. Agency environment is a plus
  • Strong empathy for user experience and ability to convey the complexities of digital products
  • Ability to grow new client relationships and manage the delicacy of ongoing accounts
  • Acute understanding of the competitive landscape with energy to monitor industry new and benchmarks
  • Excellent communication skills that demonstrate professionalism and compelling reasoning
  • Eager to meet goals while establishing priorities and time management
  • Digitally savvy, with a passion for the latest tech and product innovation
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, or finance. Advanced degree is an asset
  • 8-10+ years experience in client services or business development selling complex B2 services at a consultancy, an agency or in a corporate environment within a large, complex organization


  • Define and execute lead generation and business development strategies in close cooperation with the CEO, Marketing team, and other executives
  • Qualify inbound leads following a target profile scheme and make structured recommendations for pursuit to the CEO
  • Define a plan for outreach with discipline leads and the Business Development team, develop point of view proposals for outbound lead generation, and convert prospects into qualified leads
  • Develop growth plans for new markets and new business units
  • Manage the hand-over process, including transition and onboarding, to the Delivery team after securing new deals
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to strengthen our company's value proposition for the local Vancouver region, and position us effectively for a US and west coast expansion
