AECOM is seeking a Nuclear Refubishment Performance Improvement Officer/Engineer for our nuclear project, to be based in our Kincardine, ON location. An ideal candidate will be local or willing to relocate to the area.

A Nuclear PI Officer/Engineer will assess Project Performance of prior CANDU reactor refurbishment projects, and current Project work to identify opportunities to reduce critical path time and costs of a major nuclear unit refurbishment project. The PI Officer/Engineer will conceptualize potential solutions to loss of critical path time or resources based on the assessments made, in all areas of Project scope including work processes, tools and equipment, procedures, constraints, support facilities, technical specifications, training etc. The role will include management of adverse condition or event capture systems, and other software infrastructure tools to extract detailed OPEX lessons learned, and use of time and resource data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

+ Manage an OPEX Lessons Learned Program

+ Evaluate detailed data on loss time and resources

+ Develop viable opportunities to reduce critical path time and resource commitments.

+ Develop business cases for proposed improvement changes

+ Manage the development of software utilities to capture important data to be used as a basis of performance improvement

+ Evaluate specialized tooling and equipment performance to recommend improvements going forward

+ Provide screening and apparent cause evaluations of adverse condition or event reports.

+ Manage the development of strategic innovations proposed to the stage of acceptance to include in the Project Work Program

+ Assess the scope and technical basis of the project to determine opportunities for effort reduction while still achieving project objectives

+ Assess Client processes and facilities to identify opportunities to improve critical path performance and resource reduction.

+ Prepare analysis reports, and supportable recommendations and business cases for implementing changes to the "means and methods", processes, constraints, technical basis, tooling, equipment, training, facilities, or any facet of the Project, aimed at improving the Project Performance.

Physical Demands

When on a construction site, may be subject to extreme noise and heat. May be expected to climb ladders or wear fall protection depending on job location

Minimum Requirements

+ Post secondary school education in an Engineering/Technical discipline, or significant field experience in conducting maintenance, refurbishment or operation of a nuclear power station.

+ Prior experience on a CANDU reactor or feeder replacement project preferred Excellent analytical and organizational skills

+ Excellent interpersonal skills

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Computer literate

Preferred Qualifications

+ Due to the nature of work conducted by AECOM, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment

+ Our background check process includes a full security check and clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information.

+ Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred
