Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Assist with the preparation of functional, preliminary, and detail design drawings related to the reconstruction or widening of provincial or municipal roads or improvement for public transit
+ Assist with the preparation of contract documents and specifications associated with the design drawings for tender
+ Calculate tender bid quantities and prepare construction cost estimates
+ Assist with the coordination with utility companies to identify existing and proposed plant and review locations for conflict and required utility relocations
+ Assist in the preparation of display material for public information meetings, client meetings, and other presentations
+ Assist in the preparation of Environmental Assessment reports
+ It may be required to attend technical site visits
+ Organize, prepare material for, attend, and prepare minutes for project and technical meetings
+ Assist in the preparation of proposals
+ Prepare technical memoranda
+ Obtain, assemble, organize, and summarize project material, such as mapping, utility plans, traffic counts, transit data, and design drawings
+ Assist with CAD production, review and compilation of basic information for road design projects, preparation of spreadsheets and draft reports
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or other related field
+ Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
+ Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and MicroStation
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
+ Previous summer / work term / permanent employment in a relevant field
+ Excellent communication skills - writing, verbal, graphic, presentations
+ Valid driver's license
