SUMMARY

Associate Creative Director

The Associate Creative Director performs all tasks related to graphic design in support of Integrated Marketing Services efforts. Assists the Creative Director and other members of the creative team partnering with account leaders in strategic thinking efforts to define project assignments and develop and execute creative solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Duty

Project Management
  • Establish, manage, and maintain the creative direction and goals for specific projects ensuring they fit the client, brand, and business objectives
  • Manage projects from beginning through completion ensuring all deliverables are met

Design and Layout
  • Develop and execute creative solutions of the highest standard

Team Leadership
  • Mentor Jr. team members to assure achievable workload balance, effective challenges for each member’s skill level, and career development
  • Provide guidance to the creative team relative to the team’s knowledge and understanding of the client’s business and marketing needs and situations

Reporting
  • Manage fiscal job budgets and utilization of all team members to prepare reports as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports
  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports
  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements
  • Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job
  • Travel up to 10 %

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required) High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

(Preferred) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism or equivalent job-related experience in related field/industry
  • 5+ year’s industry experience with at least 5 years in consumer products, media, or agency experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Proficient at working with creative professionals such as copy writers, vendors, freelancers as well as account counterparts, and art/design (advertising, promotion, and interactive media)
  • Must be an overall team player with the ability to take direction well and work on projects autonomously
  • Strong organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive work ethic to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadline constraints (effective time manage); many projects and assignments may occur simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • Must be a hands-on designer with working understanding and sense of design and layout
  • Ability to work with vendors/freelancers
  • Ability to present and express creative rationale to internal members
  • Ability to help conceptualize and strategize on agency initiatives
  • Knowledge of digital file production, preparation, and formatting
  • Mentor to junior team members
  • Ability to manage budgets and estimate time
  • Creative self-starter
  • Strong organization, negotiation, and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to present effectively to large groups
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Team player with good people skills
  • Ability to efficiently utilize MAC computers and current fluency in relevant computer programs such as: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Acrobat, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage)

Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
