Account Executive At Advanced Test and Automation

Location: Milton, Ontario

Job Description

Are you someone who excels at developing long-term relationships with customers for the purpose of helping them solve their most technical challenges? If so, this role could be for you.

At Advanced Test and Automation, we enable safer transportation for everyone. How? We engineer solutions to reduce recalls and emissions through the development of more efficient automotive components.

We are seeking a passionate leader who can act as the point person for prospects throughout the sales process including ongoing customer relationship management. This person will be persistent, reliable, and creative in how they engage with customers.

Our Account Executives maintain enough relevant technical expertise to engage in initial prospecting and needs identification after which a Sales Engineer can help.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify potential customers through market research, attendance at trade shows and industry intelligence gathering.

  • Generate sale leads by networking, cold-calling, building and leveraging industry-related and professional relationships, and through timely follow up with referrals.

  • Establish relationships with existing customers in order to facilitate repeat sales.

  • Develop plans to increase sales within targeted regions and with target products, and execute on those plans.

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and ensure the delivery of professional proposals and presentations.

  • Develop and secure profitable business from new customers who are aligned with the company's targeted customer criteria.

  • Educate customers to grow the business.

  • Negotiate Contracts and Purchase Order Terms and Conditions with customers.

  • Stay abreast of the Company's products and services, and monitor changes in the industry.

  • Work closely with team members including Product Managers, Operations, R&D, and Marketing to provide critical input on strategies for new business solutions.

  • Proactively identify potential challenges and risks that could affect the implementation of a new product/service.

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within assigned area of responsibility including the use of CRM, Pipeline Report, and Weekly Reviews

  • Ensure execution of customer delight initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong technical competence to engage our customers and understand their needs.

  • Strong sales skills, including a demonstrated ability to close orders.

  • Experience in thermal management and fluid power.

  • Knowledge of (or the ability to learn quickly) the principles of automobile parts testing.

  • Knowledge of production and test processes and best practices.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to overcome challenges with patience, creativity, and attention to detail.

  • Think quickly and work interdependently in a fast-changing environment.

  • Comfortably work with a multicultural team and client base.

  • Software Skills - Experience with Office Suite or Google Docs and experience with online CRM software

  • Four-year diploma or degree, or equivalent experience.

Other

  • Travel requirement is 20% - 30%

  • Must have Driver’s License and vehicle

  • Must be able to travel internationally
