Provide leadership to support process engineering programs and standards for broad application for McMahon Gas Plant, including on-ground engagement, subject matter expert guidance, and assessment functions.
Provide key subject matter expert support as part of critical/complex investigations, scope development, troubleshooting, analysis, and project development.
Lead/support root cause analyses to resolve root condition issues and eliminate critical defects.
Engage to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, policies and practices.
Monitor systems for personnel and process safety hazards, reliability, optimization, and regulatory risks.
Ensure that facilities maintain process and corrosion related monitoring and simulation software and/or hardware in working and updated condition with appropriate support agreements. Familiar with simulation software such Promax and PI
Assess pending and new legislation for impact on Company activities and provide technical leadership to identify and address potential risks.
Provide technical leadership to support ongoing process systems maximization, reliability, process safety, and environmental compliance.
Provide leadership to support Operations Management System (OMS) processes (e.g. Management of Change, Work Management Program).
Support peer review for engineering work within the group as per EGBC requirements.
Provide vision and strategic input related to future business and efficiency impacts or opportunities.
Provide guidance related to vendor technical governance, certification, engagement, and development.
University degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university with appropriate specialization.
Registered or eligible for immediate registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
4 - 6 years post-degree engineering experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good knowledge of process and mechanical codes and standards (CSA, API, ASME).
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
8 - 10 years post-degree engineering experience.
Engineering experience in natural gas processing, including significant field experience in design, troubleshooting and analysis of amine and gas treating process.
Experience with corrosion management principles.
Understanding of and practice with process engineering, trending, and simulation software.
Experience in application of root cause failure analysis (RCFA) principles, hazard analysis, and risk assessment principles.Familiarity with hydrocarbon liquid recovery processes and systems.
Practically applied familiarity with process reliability principles and program implementation.
Experience with corrosion management analysis and corrosion monitoring/trending tools.
Experience with gas processing regulatory reporting
Experience with PI and plant simulation software such as Promax HYSIS, etc.
