Backend Software Engineer - Integrations Team At AC780

Location

Montréal, Qc

Job Description

AC780

AC780 is a unique recruiting agency helping the best Silicon Valley start-ups build and operate world class product development teams right here in Montreal. We only take clients that we believe have excellent founders, businesses, culture, and compensation packages. Conversely, we are looking only for candidates eager to work at startups where they can maximize their own impact and learning while building products that will transform industries (if not the world!). AC780 wants to be the sherpa for your startup journey - please connect with us on this opportunity or future opportunities.

Company Description

Copper, formerly ProsperWorks, is one of the fastest growing SaaS startups ever! Founded on the idea that all CRMs (e.g. Salesforce.com) require too much data entry from users, Copper set out to create a CRM that users actually love. Understanding that Google’s G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar) was quickly gaining adoption by businesses everywhere, Copper built a CRM seamlessly integrated with G Suite through APIs so that users didn’t have to manually enter much data on their customer communications - and voila, a successful product was born!

Five years later, Copper has over 12,000 customers and 100,000 active paying users who login daily to use their relationship management software. As a result, Copper has attracted nearly $90M in VC funding, doubled its company valuation every 6 months, and grown to over 100 employees in San Francisco.

Copper is coming to Montreal because they can’t hire great engineers fast enough in San Francisco. This is a unique opportunity to work for one of Silicon Valley’s top startups, build the team in Montreal from the ground up, and show the world that Montreal has tech talent that rivals anywhere in the world!

Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a newly formed pod (team of 8-10 product developmental professionals) that will own product integrations for Copper. We are calling this pod the Business Process Integrations Pod, and its mission will be to enable and productize business critical software integrations to help Copper improve its business processes internally as well as offer pre-packaged integrations for Copper’ customers. For example, this means building product integrations that Copper customers can use for bookkeeping (Quickbooks), marketing (Hubspot, Marketo), customer support (Zendesk), etc. After the first year or two, you will have opportunity to join other pods at Copper too.

You will learn how to build integrations the right way, not only for internal company use, but also how to productize them and offer them for use by paying customers. These sort of lightweight product integrations are the future of enterprise software and you will become an expert at Google Integrations amongst many others.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for great software engineers who like to build features that people love. You are more excited about building something that is powerful, yet elegant in its simplicity, than you are about managing Big Data or implementing machine learning models - at least for the next few years. You are happy to create software that will support internal teams and processes at Copper itself, and understand that business needs change rapidly, and hence your software may need to change rapidly too.

We are looking for a back end engineer with experience or a desire to learn Ruby on Rails. Other technologies that you have experience with or a desire to learn may include: Javascript frameworks (we use Ember), Postgres, AWS, Elastic Search, Integration Platforms (we use Tray.io), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Bonus if you have any experience with some of the products we plan to integrate with: Recurly, Intercom, Marketo, AppDirect, ZenProspect, ZenDesk, Hubspot, etc.

We will prefer people with between two and seven years of software engineering experience while working at a product/software company, and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field. As a US company, English proficiency and comfort - both written and verbal - is a must.
