Description The Front-end development team is responsible for developing the best possible semantic HTML for the Back-end developers to implement as well as be a guide for best practices in regards to accessibility, SEO and UI/UX.
Work with QA teams to resolve defects during UAT cycles and agile release process. Also, providing documentation on front end related functionality for QA teams to correctly test new functionality.
Front-end development team is also the point of contact for business related marketing content issues and marketing content related questions and troubleshooting under the title Ecommerce UI. A wing of Ecommerce operations in helping resolve production related issues in UI/UX.
The Front-End Developer will Implement visual elements that users see and interact with in a web application as well as be the support for all brands under the 1800flowers.com family of brands. They will be supported by back-end web developers in an agile workflow.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining consistent UI/UX through continually maintained and agile product deployments
Develop semantic HTML for Back-end developers to implement
Develop and implement CSS in relation to agile deployments
Work with QA team debugging defects related to new functionality
Support all Enterprise brands with requested projects and everyday marketing needs.Documenting of new functionality for distribution to business marketing groups and QA teams.
Landing Pages, General Marketing content
A/B test prototyping, development and implementation
Troubleshooting and problem solving
Point of reference for UI/UX best practices for IT and the Enterprise.
Point of reference for best semantic practices for IT and the Enterprise.
Work with QA teams during UAT cycles to resolve UI/UX defects related to any project
Occasionally providing creative assistance to brand stakeholders
Minimum 5 years' experience
Expert in HTML/CSS
Knowledge of SASS or LESS
Familiarity with motion design for the web animations
Expert with Adobe Photoshop/Dreamweaver or IDE of choice
Expert in image optimization for the web
Experience with enterprise level CMS (IBM Websphere commerce a plus)
Expert in responsive design
Understanding of CSS frameworks (Bootstrap or Foundation)
Proficient in cross browser compatibility and legacy browser debugging
Knowledge of evergreen browsers
Knowledge of version control solutions, Git, SVN
Firm understanding of UI/UX principles
Ability to work in agile development environment
Familiarity with issue and project tracking software (Rally)
Firm understanding of accessibility best practices, schema.org and SEO best practices
Inquisitive nature in new and trending web technologies
Knowledge of React/Angular a plus
Knowledge of Node a plus
Knowledge of bleeding edge CSS3 and HTML features (CSS grid etc etc) a plus
